Jeff Basset of Unisource Global Solutions, in Chandler, AZ, recently worked with our regional sales representative Jon Willingham to design an interior living wall for their offices. They enlisted the help of Joe Zazzera and his team from Plant Solutions in Scottsdale to install and maintain the wall.
We frequently have people ask us whether it is complicated to install a TerraScreen system. This series of pictures answers that question better than anything…
The TerraScreen continues to make its way around the world! You can find one at our partner’s office in Dubai, and most recently I received a picture from Rudy Ursem at Green Design in Sydney. They wanted to try out the system, and have been working with our partner A-Z Irrigation in Australia. They put their first one up in their conference room to see how it works. Rudy didn’t think there was anything special about it – we beg to differ!
They are currently looking at using them without irrigation in several applications. They like the sub-irrigation component, and think that they can make it work with their current 4-week maintenance rotations.
We were pleased to do a TerraScreen® demonstration this week for a very large internet company in Mountain View. Creative Plant Design, the company’s interiorscaper, and Sunborne Nursery (a wholesale nursery and Tournesol distributor) coordinated the effort and provided the plant material. By setting up the installation on the fly and then removing it after 3 days, we showed how easy the system is to install and move around. The demo featured a 4’x4′ and a 4’x8′ section.
One of the most attractive things for the client was the option of using the living wall as a freestanding screen that could be moved around at will. They were already using whiteboards for the same purpose. The TerraScreen stand can be outfitted with casters, and with the self-contained irrigation it is free to go anywhere. More pictures after the break.
If you’ve browsed our catalog, you probably recognize this great installation. Joe Zazzera and his crew at Plant Solutions were one of the first companies to try out the TerraScreen® interior living wall. They bought two 4’x4′ panels for their conference room, sight unseen! More images and description after the break.
We were recently sent images by our friends at Plantscapes in Seattle, who just completed the installation of this TerraScreen living wall. It is part of a “workplace lab” for a very large software company in Seattle. They are continually updating the way that they structure their workspaces, and invited Plantscapes to install a living wall as a demonstration project. In addition to what you see above, they will be installing a custom one-row TerraScreen panel on the endcap, to complete the wrap-around look. They wanted to leave the end exposed initially so that the employees could understand how the system works.
If you are attending the February 24th Office and Commercial Real Estate Expo put on by BOMA-Suburban Chicago (Building Owners and Managers Association) at the Drury Lane-Oak Brook, you have to stop by the Greens by White booth (booth #705) and see the spectacular TerraScreen Interior Living Wall display they have put together for the show. Their display shows the potential of how living walls can enhance your property or place of business.
Not able to make the Expo on February 24th? Greens by White will also be exhibiting and bringing the TerraScreen Interior Living Wall to BOMA-Chicago’s 5th Annual Trade Show held on May 13, 2010 at The Merchandise Mart in Chicago. Booth number to be announced.
