The Pacific Coast Builder’s Conference (PCBC) is the premiere residential home builder’s trade show on the West Coast, and always an important one for ValleyCrest Landscape Development. This year their design team came up with the idea to use living walls for the common areas that they sponsor. Their first call was to Tournesol Siteworks.
more after the break…
Because they were more familiar with our VGM modular living wall system, they initially wanted to use that. We recognized the temporary nature of the installation, and thought it would be perfect for the TerraScreen interion green wall system.
There was a radio show being broadcast from the “Town Center” section at the show, and ValleyCrest set up a living wall in front (with a cut-out so you could see what was going on), using three each of the 49″H x 49″W panels on each side of the dividing wall.
There were four 4-sided islands (shown below) that had 70″H x 49″W panels. All told, there was nearly 500 sq. ft. of living wall, and 570 6″ plants, all assembled for a 3 day show.
The towers were built on a 2×4 frame, and the panels hanging on the Town Center wall were attached together (back to back), and hung on a cable from the ceiling. An impressive display for a temporary installation. Kudos to ValleyCrest!
