Overview
VersiJack adjustable deck & paver pedestals are an economical replacement for brick, metal or wood substructures when installing raised pavers or decking. Raised podium floors allow for rapid drainage, easy accessibility to waterproofing membrane and concealed services below. Using purpose-built pedestals will simplify the design and reduce the installation cost compared to any other material.
VersiJack is the most multi-functional of all pedestal solutions. It features optional adjustable slope correction (either at the top or the base of the pedestal), as well as secure, fast, easy-to-set locking rings. The broad, stable base won't damage waterproofing, and can support more weight than any other pedestal system (3500 lbs.). Some of our largest projects are done with decking (see the before/after image of a commercial retail center above), but work equally well with concrete, stone, wood or granite pavers. The pedestals can comfortably accommodate heights from 3" up to 40", and work both with pavers (using 3 standard paver spacing sizes) or with decking beams (see the image of a project using both above). They are manufactured in 100% recycled polypropylene, so can be used either wet or dry. They won't rot, retain water, or promote bacteria growth. They are commonly used to create false bottoms in shallow pools - see images below.
How It Works
The VersiJack pedestal is made of a pedestal base, a pedestal top, and multiple extender barrels, depending upon the desired height of the pedestal. The height of the pedestal is quickly adjusted by turning the upper unit into the lower unit. Once the correct height is reached, a locking ring is quickly installed which will prevent the unit from moving over time. The VersiJack can be used with up to 3 extender barrels, to reach a maximum height of 40". Jacks can be finished off with a slope corrector for either the top or bottom of the pedestal. Both correctors can adjust in 1° increments to adapt to a 5° slope (see illustration of slope correctors below). Use of one or another usually depends upon the preference of the installer.
Each VersiJack can receive a beam support cap (see illustration below) that will accommodate widths between 2"-3". The beam support works in concert with either the top or bottom slope corrector.
To use the VersiJack with pavers, stone, or granite, use the paver spacer tabs. These plug into either the pedestal top or the top slope corrector, and are available in 1/8", 1/4" or 3/8" spacing (see image of wood pavers and spacer tabs below).
Specifications
VersiJack pedestals are manufactured in 100% recycled polypropylene,
and can be used either wet or dry. They are rot resistant,
won't absorb moisture, unaffected by algae or mold. The black
units have a 8" base diamenter, and 6" top diameter.
The ultimate compressive strength of a unit without the extender
barrel is 20kN (4496 lbf), which represents approx. 3500 lbs.
